Maba Buxifolia
Diospyros Ferrea

象牙木

Black ebony is Diospyros ferrea or Maba Buxifolia in the Ebenaceae family. The family include ebony and persimmon trees and shrubs. The Philippines call it Bantulinao. It is found in tropical and warmer temperate locations worldwide. The most diversified types are found in Malaysia, Thailand, Indo China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Laos, and Taiwan.
The plant family is designated as Endangered Species (EN) on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, reviewed in 1998. If reports are made today, the status may be critical (CR) or extinct in the wild (EW).

Brazilian Ironwood 
Libidibia ferrea

A striking specimen tree with a variegated trunk and soft fern-like foliage.
Although native to Brazil, this exotic tree with feathery foliage evokes memories of Africa. This tree is ideal for big areas such as parks, acreages, and large blocks due to its drought tolerance. Variation species with 6-8 leaves per petiole were cultivated and used as Bonsai in Malaysia a decade ago. Synonyms include Caesalpinia ferrea, Leopard Tree, and Brazilian ironwood in the Fabaceae family.

Leopard Tree 黄花盾木

The Leopard tree forms an open crown with thin leaflets that provide light to moderate summer shade. The stem terminals of the tree have panicle spikes of brilliant yellow blooms. In bonsai, stem tips are typically cut to reduce the likelihood of blooming and facilitate tree ramification.
The thin, feathery foliage filters sunlight and creates a lovely shadowed effect under the canopy, especially when gazing upwards.

Podocarpus Costalis

Podocarpus costalis, locally known as arius, is a species of conifer in the family Podocarpaceae. It is native to the Philippines and Taiwan.

This plant grows in island scrub, low forest, or in a limestone bluff or sea stack habitat, growing at elevations from sea level to nearly 300 meters. It is also widely cultivated as a garden plant. It is used in bonsai. The fruit is edible.

One threat to the survival of wild populations is over collecting for horticulture; this practice is illegal throughout its native range.

it has become so pupular in Malaysia that the plant appear to be an avant-garde species of plant that bring good feng Shui to the owner.
